What's your ideal photoshoot?

My ideal photoshoot day would be to start at your house or a meet a cafe/bar and then make our way to a special location, either to town or a familiar trail where I can capture the natural moments.  Of course, somewhere in between, I might ask for a quick smile or a pose, but I prefer to keep a journalistic style as if I'm just another bystander in your everyday life.

How much time do you need for a photoshoot?

For portrait sessions, about 1-2 hours depending on how the day is progressing based on light, weather, children participation, or beer stops.

How should I prepare for a shoot?

Dress appropriately for the look you are going for - casual, dressy... just make sure you iron your shirt, unless you're going for the wrinkled look. ;) Please let me know if you are planning to do an outfit change mid-shoot.

Do you travel outside of Zürich?

Yes. An hour +/- from the city center is a reasonable distance. However, we can work something out together if you are further away. I'm always up for a photo shoot in the mountains!

Do you have a studio?

I’ve partnered with the Luus Muus for mini photo sessions on a monthly basis.  Email me to book your slot of future dates.

Outside the studio, where should we do the shoot?

What kind of picture setting are you going for... a day in a life at home, or doing something you love to do like hiking, or walking around the city, maybe going to a familiar park?

One thing to note though, if you want to do an outside shoot, make sure that there is plenty of shade for the times when the sun is at its peak.  If you want to do an inside shoot, chose a place with windows so we can use the natural light - avoid rooms with yellowish artificial light.

When is the best time to do a shoot?

Technically, for outside photography, the time around sunrise and sunset is the best time to shoot, which is not very doable for most people, especially for families with young children. With that said, we need to avoid the midday sun, if possible, as the lighting is very harsh, producing unflattering shadows on faces and causing clients to squint. Unless, of course, it's cloudy outside or it's an indoor shoot - then timing doesn't matter.

Do we meet beforehand?

I like to get a sense of who you are and get a good understanding of your expectations. This can be done over the phone or over coffee, especially for weddings and engagements.

How are the pictures delivered?

Via a website gallery where you can download individual pictures or order prints, which will be delivered to you.

How many images are included?

It depends on the package you chose. If you want custom, call me and let's talk.

Do you do prints and/or albums?

Yes.

When should I expect the final product?

From a typical portrait session, it should take no longer than 2 weeks from the date of the shoot. Rush orders is available for an additional cost.

How does payment work?

For portraits, I require full payment at the start of the shoot.  For weddings, I require a 50% down payment at the end of our introductory meeting and the remaining 50% the morning of the wedding.
